Contact with Artists/Bands
Dear Island Records,
I am an A-Level student studying Media Studies as a part of the Cabot Learning Federation. I am writing today in request to use Gin Wigmore's song, 'Dirty Love' as a part of my coursework which involves me creating a music video and a digipak based around an artist and a song. The song is purely for education uses only as a part of my coursework and I hope to be able to create a music video which reflects the song but with a creative input as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and I hope you are able to accept my request.
Yours Sincerely,
Louise Nicholas

Costume/Make-up Planning
Performer - Beth
For my performer, I have decided to have her in two different costumes, one for the performance and one for the storyline. For the performance, I have decided to have her in a tight black dress, with black heels with quite messy hair. For her make-up, she did a dark smoky eye with a bright red lip. I thought this was best as it fits most closet with the original artist, Gin Wigmore, and I thought it would fit with the song.
For the Narrative shots, I have decided to have her in, all black again, in a leather jacket, a fitted top, jeans and either a pair of heels or boots of some sort. Her hair will still be quite messy as its going to be set outside, but her make-up will be more natural and less harsh.
Performer - Joe
For my guitarist, I imagined him to be quite dark looking person. For the costume, I have asked him to wear a black trench coat, dark jeans or leather trousers, black shoes (possibly boots) and a black fitted t-shirt. Because of how I'm lighting the shots, very darkly with a spotlight, I don't want the main attention to be on his face therefore he won't need any make-up. However, I have planned on doing a back tattoo so I'll need black face paint to do it. I have already done an initial design for the tattoo.

Analysis of Song Lyrics
This is the analysis of the song lyrics to 'Dirty Love' by Gin Wigmore. Analysing the song lyrics has helped me come up with a narrative/storyline to go along with my performance shots. It was after doing the analysis that I started to grasp what kind of storyline I wanted to go in the video and how it would fit in with the song.
Initial Planning
This is the mind map for my initial planning ideas were it includes Performance ideas, Locations, Story lines/Narratives, Props and Make-up and I'll use it when I've started filming for my video to guide me/ help me whilst filming and planning towards it.
