Interscope Records

The American record label was founded in 1989 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field and has finacial support from Atlantic Record which owns 53% of the stock in the label.

The labels first release was Mo'Ritmo by Gerado and the labels original focus was on hop hop and Urban but breanched out to different genres like Industrial Rock with artists like Nine Inch Nails and Marylin Manson, by the mid 1990's. The label has been mainly focused on Gangsta Rap.

Interscope has merged with several other record labels including Geffen Records and DreamWork Records which means they all share their own artists.
