How effective is the combination of your main product and your ancillary tasks?

Stylistically, I wanted the promotional package to be quite bold and big in terms of the font whilst maintaining simplicity. For my promotional package and my music video, I used the same girl, who was appearing as the main singer, as the main feature.

Doing this meant, on Photoshop, I could draw the colour from the girls lipstick, which was a dark red, purple colour, and used it directly for the colour text on the promotional package. The other colours which I kept fairly consistent across all three products was the colour black, which is seen as the background in the video as well as some clips being in black and white, as well as the main cover pages in the digipak.

The gradient effect is seen here in the poster.
I wanted my three pieces to create a ‘badass’ image of the singer, which I created with the dark colour scheme. I wanted to create this image as the song and style had quite a rocky feel and I wanted to emphasise that. I feel like the colour scheme of having dark colours and gradients has emphasised this giving that rocky “I don’t care” feel, which the singer in my video notably has.

Gin Wigmore has a badass/"I don't care" style about her music videos, this one being "Black Sheep."
I really liked this and decided to create a similar feel in my own video.

Because of the simplicity of the digipak, I feel like this is the only major difference between the album and the rest of the pieces. With the poster, there is text and photo integration whereas the digipak is kept quite separately. I wanted to do this as it goes against most artists within the genre as for thier albums, they have some kind of combination of the two.

This album cover also features a dark colour scheme with the main feature being the red text.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

I looked at the written feedback from all my screenings for my music video as well as asking specific people what they thought of it in video form.

I asked three people, that I felt worked within a similar genre to me, for their opinion of my video.

Since the final screening, I have taken the feedback into consideration and have made several changes to my music video.

In what ways does your musicvideo and ancillary tasks use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In this prezi, I have looked at how I have used, developed and challenge the main conventions of the alternative pop genre in regards to music videos and ancillary tasks.

Updated Music Video

After I gained feedback from the last edit of my music video, I decided to edit thing together so it was more for the tempo of the song and the shots for the performers wasn't as long. I also added in some effects such as changing the opacity, so there was a crossover and doing split screens.

Updated Music Video

Here is the more up to date version of my music video after getting feedback from my audience. I took into account that my narrative wasn't coming across as much as I would have liked and tried to refilm/film several new shots so my narrative would be more noticeable. I also re-synced some footage to make it fit.
